Willabrand Australia in the Adelaide Hills is a cracking spot for anyone keen on fresh figs. You can get stuck into their "pick-your-own" experience, foraging through the terraced orchards at Glen Ewin Estate. They've got five different fig varieties on offer, so you'll find something new with every visit. It's not just about the fruit though, the views of the surrounding hills are pretty stunning too. The pick-your-own usually runs daily from February to April. After you've filled your basket, head over to the Figbar for some local food and wine. If you're after something a bit more substantial, the Cellar Door Restaurant is open Thursday to Sunday for a proper meal, though it’s a good idea to book ahead. They also sell a range of fig products, so you can take a bit of Willabrand home with you. Just remember to check their website before you go, as opening times can change. The 2026 fig season kicks off around the 27th of February, so mark your calendars.
