About
Twamley Farm is a cracker of a spot in Buckland, on Tasmania's East Coast, spanning 7,000 acres along the Tea Tree Rivulet. The Turvey family's been working this land since 1874, carrying on a long tradition of farming. You can tell they've put a lot of love into the place. They've got boutique accommodation, everything from The Stable to more private spots like The Shearers Hut and the Farm Pod. They even offer a bush retreat called Twin Lakes for those who love fly fishing. It's not just about staying though, there are plenty of on-farm activities to get stuck into. You can try your hand at trout fishing, go for a walk or mountain bike ride, or even have a go at clay target shooting. The old sandstone homestead, built way back in 1842, has some serious history too, once home to artist Louisa Anne Meredith. If you're after a bit of a creative boost, they run a cooking school and workshops like Christmas wreath making. They also host bigger events and weddings, so it's a pretty versatile place. You can really slow down and recharge here, whether you're keen on the farm life, a bit of history, or just getting out into the Tasmanian scenery. It's a genuine working farm with a whole heap to offer for a proper country getaway.
