About
Seaside Farm is a cracker of a spot in Penguin, Tasmania, sitting pretty on eight acres with stunning views out over Preservation Bay and the Bass Strait. It's a proper working farm, so you'll see sheep and chickens about, which is a big hit with guests. People rave about the peace and quiet here, Frank called the accommodation "1st class", and it's easy to see why. You can kick back in one of their two self-contained, two-bedroom cottages, Banksia or Grevillea, both kitted out for a comfy stay. They sleep up to six, with a queen bed, two singles, and a sofa bed, perfect for families or a few mates. One guest, Susan, loved feeding the sheep and lambs and getting fresh eggs, saying the hospitality was "wonderful". It's only a five-minute drive from Penguin town centre, which is handy for grabbing supplies or checking out the local scene. It makes a great base for exploring the North-West coast of Tassie, as Alan and Judy found, calling it "5 star accommodation" and saving "the best till last". The views are a real highlight, as L&B mentioned, refusing to leave just to soak it all in. Definitely a top pick if you're keen for a genuine farm stay experience with a view to die for.
