Down Goomboorian way, just outside Gympie, you'll find Rossmount Rural Retreat. It's a family-run farm stay spread across 35 acres, where David and Jeanette Wilson have created a real haven. They've got a fantastic exotic fruit orchard, which they're happy to tell you all about. You can even taste some of their sweet Australian persimmons. It's a peaceful spot to kick back, and it's handily located between Noosa and Rainbow Beach, making it a good base for getting to Fraser Island. It's only 10 minutes from Gympie itself, and about 45 minutes from the shops and restaurants in Noosa.
