About
River Run Farm Camping is situated on the Mary River in the Fraser Coast region. The property occupies land that was once the 'Antigua Sugar Plantation' in the 1860s, with remains of the brick mill visible nearby. The adjacent river is known for endangered species including the Mary River Turtle and the Australian Lungfish.
The campground is family and pet friendly, allowing a maximum of two dogs per site. Amenities include hot and cold showers, flushable toilets, a kids bath shack, and a dump point, all cleaned daily. A fully equipped camp kitchen and BBQ area is provided. The site offers good Telstra 4G reception and user-pays Camplifi internet, and is easily accessible for cars and caravans without requiring a 4WD.
The farm has various animals including horses, ponies, donkeys, cows, goats, pigs, chooks, turkeys, and geese. Organised animal feedings are held every Saturday morning, with more frequent sessions during school holidays and long weekends. The area has an abundance of wildlife, including pretty face wallabies, frilled neck lizards, water dragons, bandicoots, echidnas, and platypus. Campers must take all rubbish with them upon departure, though recycle bins for bottles and cans are provided. Firewood is available for purchase from a neighbour, but campers must bring their own brazier on legs. Bookings are made exclusively through Hipcamp.
