About
Norm's Farm Bed & Breakfast is a cracking spot right in the Barossa Valley, sitting on a huge 400-acre property that's been in the Kies family for six generations. You're not just getting a room here, you're getting a whole self-contained house with stunning views of the vineyards and those big, rolling green lawns that just stretch out forever. It's the perfect place to get away from it all and really soak up the Barossa. Billie-Jo Kies, your host, is a Barossa local whose family helped establish Hoffnungsthal, one of the region’s original German settlements. They've been here for yonks, and you can feel that history in every corner of the farm. While you're there, you can explore the vineyards, say hello to the beef cattle, and get a real feel for a working farm. What's really special is that some of their 140-year-old Shiraz grapes go straight to Penfolds, and the farm itself is certified as part of Sustainable Wine Growing Australia. They also grow cereal crops and run about 50 beef breeding cattle. Oh, and if you're there at the right time, you might even catch the Barossa Rodeo, which Billie-Jo's sister Bridgette organises. Plus, Barossa Helicopters, started by Billie-Jo's folks, Peter and Sandra Kies, operates right from the farm, so you could even grab a scenic flight. Guests on Booking.com have raved about how spotless it is, how comfy the beds are, and the "extremely well stocked kitchen with extra surprises!" This isn't a shared house either; you get the whole place to yourselves. It’s a proper home away from home, and you’ll leave feeling like you’ve been part of something truly special in the Barossa.
