About
The Murrumbateman Field Days are a cracker of an annual event held at the Recreation Grounds in Murrumbateman. It's a real highlight for the rural community and visitors alike, bringing folks together for a good old family farm experience. You'll find it like a massive farmers market mixed with an agricultural show, properly showcasing local produce, farm gear, live demonstrations, and heaps of local businesses. Visitors can wander through a huge range of exhibitors, catch some family-friendly entertainment, and learn a stack about farming and country life in the Yass Valley. The Field Days are a big community shindig, proudly backed by the Murrumbateman Community Association, with all the money raised going straight back into local community and sporting groups. It's a top chance to connect with local growers, find new bits and pieces, and just soak up the lively atmosphere. They've even been named a national finalist in the 2025 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards, which is pretty fair dinkum. Past visitors have raved about the easy ticket access, well-laid-out venue, and the RFS being super organised with parking. Lots of people loved the demonstration of kids and their dogs jumping walls, and heaps of first-timers were chuffed with the variety on offer, especially the tractor pull and seeing the animals. Folks also reckon the free shuttle bus is a winner.
