About
Mary River Farmstay is a 100-hectare cattle farm with one kilometre of river frontage. It offers 20 sites for self-contained RVs only, with powered sites available near the house and shed area. The property provides a peaceful and tranquil escape with plenty of room for privacy.
Guests can enjoy kayaking, fishing, biking, and bush walking. The Mary River is home to bass, saratoga, sooty grunter, catfish, and platypus, and two access tracks have been constructed for easier kayak launching despite the steep river bank. The farmstay also features a five-metre deep lake stocked with fish, birds, and water lilies, with kayaks available to campers. The wetland area has abundant bird life, and fire pits with firewood are provided free of charge in the camping areas.
The farm has horses and cows, and the hosts, Warren and his wife, are described as friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. They have also created a man-made beach on the property. The farmstay is pet-friendly for self-contained RV campers and is located 50 minutes from Gympie and Maryborough.
