About
Lacey's Creek Homestead is a proper step back in time, just 50 minutes out of Brisbane. You'll find this beautiful old place, a century-old wooden homestead to be exact, sitting pretty on the foothills of the D'Aguilar Range. It's been around since 1889, so it's got heaps of history etched into its beams and floors. The owners have done a fantastic job bringing it back to its original glory, keeping all the charm with those lovely stained-glass casement windows, 12-foot ceilings, and that cosy wood fire heater you'd expect in an old Queenslander. It's a working farm too, so you'll get to see chickens, ducks, and geese wandering about, and sometimes even a cheeky goat that's made a run for it. There are cattle grazing the hills and fields nearby, adding to that real farm feel. It’s perfect if you’re keen to switch off from the everyday hustle and just enjoy country life for a bit. You can book direct or through Airbnb to experience a stay that really feels like a glimpse into how things used to be.
