About
Kenniff's Gang Bush Camp is situated on a 48,000-acre cattle station adjacent to Mount Moffatt Carnarvon National Park. The camp offers 20 sites for RVs and tents, spaced widely across the property and surrounded by sandstone hills, natural grasses, and gum, pine and box trees. Sites are 20 to 50 metres from a permanent waterhole in the Maranoa River, which has an abundance of fish.
The camp is located 10km from the boundary of Mount Moffatt National Park, known for its Aboriginal art and history, and is near the Consuela Tableland, 1000m above sea level. Hosts Pete and Maree are Star Hosts, recognised for high ratings and responsiveness, though they can be without phone or internet for up to 15 days. Campers must be fully self-contained, bringing their own camping toilet, shower and drinking water, though untreated bore water is provided. A 4WD vehicle and off-road camper or tent are required, and visitors should carry enough fuel for at least 600km. Due to the remote location, a satellite phone, EPIRB or PLB is recommended, as medical attention is a two-hour drive away. Pets on leashes are welcome.
