Julie runs Highland Getaway, a cracking farm stay in Tasmania's Huon Valley. It's just a 35-minute drive from Hobart, but you'll feel a million miles away on her 67-acre working farm. She breeds gorgeous Highland Cattle and friendly alpacas, and you'll get to meet them all. Every stay includes a 2.5-hour farm tour where you can brush the Highland cows and calves, feed the alpacas, and learn a bit about organic farming methods. It's a photographer's dream and an animal lover's paradise, just like Jasmine said in her review, raving about the photogenic cows. You can stay in one of two self-contained suites, the Cinema Suite or the Spa Suite, or book the whole Homestead if you're with family or another couple. If you're really keen, you can even combine the Homestead with one of the suites or take over the whole house. The views from every window are stunning, looking out over the peaceful country landscape. It's a spot where you can really unwind and enjoy the tranquility of a proper Tasmanian farm.
