Gibbards Crossing

Gibbards Crossing offers a lovely farm stay just 5kms out of Redesdale, right on the banks of the Campaspe River. You can stay in their Bell Cottage, which has been newly done up and has all the comforts you'd want, plus some corker views. They're pretty proud of their boutique single vineyard shiraz from their own vines, and they also press their own extra virgin olive oil. It's a cracking spot to chill out and enjoy the peace and quiet of the Heathcote region. The farm's name even comes from the old bluestone river ford that crosses the Campaspe at the end of Gibbards Lane, which is a nice bit of local history. It's an easy run from Melbourne if you're looking for a rural escape that's still handy to town. You can grab their 2019 Shiraz that's just been released. Bell Cottage isn't just a bed and breakfast, it's a fully furnished place where you can properly unwind and soak up the country air.
