About
Douglas Vale Historic Homestead & Vineyard was constructed in 1862 and is the oldest timber homestead in the Hastings region. The museum, vineyard and cellar door have undergone restoration. The boutique vineyard produces six different varieties of wine, made from handpicked grapes.
Open to the public on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 3 pm, visitors can take guided tours of the homestead and grounds. Wine tastings are available, and cheese plates are offered. Visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic, though bringing your own alcohol is not permitted. The organisation is a not-for-profit and entirely run by volunteers. Larger groups are encouraged to book in advance, and bookings are necessary for private functions, wedding ceremonies and wedding photography.
