About
Curringa Farm offers award-winning farmstay accommodation in Tasmania. Recognised nationally and as the winner of the World Agritourism Awards in 2024, the farm is also noted for Ecotourism with excellence and Agri Tourism with Excellence. The farmstay cottages are set in natural bushland and overlook Lake Meadowbank, providing deluxe accommodation with varying configurations, including studios, two-bedroom cottages, and farmhouses.
Tim and Jane Parsons, 6th generation Tasmanian farmers, operate Curringa Farm. The farm spans 750 acres, running up to 3000 sheep for meat and wool, and also grows crops of seeds and pharmaceutical medicine. A significant 12% of the farm is under conservation, providing habitat for native birds, plants, and animals, and a tree planting program is available for visitors to contribute. The farmstay commenced in 1984 with the 'Over The Back' cottage.
Guests can participate in farm tours that include sheep shearing, working farm dogs, fluffy chickens, forest walks, and morning tea. Visitors also have the opportunity to learn about best practice land-care and farming techniques during their stay.
