About
Chestnut Brae Farm is a farm stay and shop located in Nannup, Western Australia, 15km south of the town. The accommodation is a hundred-year-old restored cottage set on 70 acres of European-style garden and farm, surrounded by Jarrah forest. Guests can interact with animals including sheep, alpacas, pigs and angora goats, and observe kangaroos and emus at the start and end of each day. Over 60 species of native birds have been spotted on the property.
A complimentary 1.5-hour tour with John provides insight into chestnut farming, from picking to processing. Chestnut picking is available from late March until early June. The farm shop sells a range of products including chestnut ice cream, signature chestnut ale and chestnut-fed pork. Guests can use the barbecue on the verandah to cook produce from the shop. The cottage amenities include a wood fire, a spa bath and a library of books and DVDs. The farm utilises rainwater and primarily solar-generated electricity.
Chestnut Brae acknowledges the Wardandi and Bibbulmun people as the traditional custodians of the land.
