About
Catania Fruit Salad Farm is a family-run orchard and the oldest working farm in its district. The original mud brick farmhouse was built over a century ago by the pioneering Cox family. The farm's history is deeply connected to its Sicilian heritage, with farming and winemaking knowledge passed down through generations since Salvatore Maugeri arrived in Australia in 1952.
Catania Farm has been providing visitor tours for over 30 years. Its Farm Safari uses a unique corrugated iron clad bus, with personalised guided tours running Tuesday to Saturday at 1:30 PM, and Sunday and Monday by arrangement. Visitors may have the opportunity to sample in-season fruits during the tour. The farm store is open from 1 PM to 3 PM, with Sunday and Monday by arrangement. A Harvest Cafe offering morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea is available for groups by arrangement.
The award-winning farm implements sustainable practices and has made significant investments in solar power to become carbon neutral and reduce ecosystem damage.
