Billabong Cottage

Billabong Cottage offers a private retreat on a 500-hectare cattle and sheep property near Oberon, New South Wales. The cottage is located 2.5 hours from Sydney, 6 minutes from Oberon, and 10 minutes from Mayfield Garden. It is situated on “The Tablelands Way”, a touring route connecting Canberra to the Hunter Valley.

The self-contained accommodation includes a slow-combustion wood heater, reverse-cycle air-conditioning, and a fully equipped kitchen and laundry. It provides four-bedroom accommodation, with three Queen bedrooms and one Twin bedroom. Guests are required to provide their own food. The 1300-acre operational cattle and sheep farm allows for observing wildlife such as birds, kangaroos, wombats, and platypus. Guests have private access to a 2-kilometre frontage of the Fish River for trout fishing. The streams are open for fishing from the start of the October long weekend until the end of the June long weekend, and a Freshwater fishing license is required.
