About
Alpana Station offers a fair dinkum outback experience in the Flinders Ranges. It's a working sheep station, so you get a real feel for the land, not just a pretty view. You'll find it 5km south of Blinman and 50km north of Wilpena, right in the heart of the central Flinders. There are heaps of ways to explore the area, from guided 4WD tours and self-drive tracks to walking trails like the Rocky Nob, a decent 3.5km hike that takes about an hour. If you’re into photography, you’ll want your camera handy, because there are some cracking scenes to capture. Alpana Station gives you a great base to explore the stunning scenery, the gorges, and all the native plants, birds and animals the Flinders Ranges are famous for. They've made sure there are plenty of activities to keep you busy, whether you're keen on bushwalking or just driving around taking it all in. It’s an ideal spot for those who love getting off the beaten track and really immersing themselves in the Australian bush.
