The South Australian Produce Market is the state's central hub for fresh produce trading, operating as a major distribution and marketing hub for fresh fruit and vegetables. Over 250,000 tonnes of fresh produce is traded through the site annually, supplying a wide range of customers including greengrocers, supermarkets, cafes, restaurants and other food service providers.
The site hosts the SA Farmers Market, which is open every Sunday from 6 am to 1 pm. The market encourages supporting local growers and choosing seasonal produce, promoting the 'Pick a Local, Pick SA!' program. It regularly publishes updates on what is in season and offers services including Price Reporting, Fresho, a CHEP Unloading Service, and site inductions for the farmers market and post-harvest facility.
