About
Slow Food Melbourne is the home of the Slow Food movement in Melbourne, which was founded in 1986 in Rome, Italy, by Carlo Petrini. The movement's core principles are 'Good, clean and fair food for all'. At its heart is a Farmers' Market for Makers & Growers, held three times a month in Spotswood, West Footscray, and Edgewater (Maribyrnong). The Spotswood market is held at Spotswood Primary School. These markets offer quality home grown fruits and vegetables, organic pork, and local distilleries.
