About
Goyder Square in Palmerston really comes alive on Friday nights from May to October, when the Palmerston Markets set up shop. You'll find heaps of good stuff, from colourful, locally grown fruits and veggies straight from the farm to all sorts of hot and cold food. There's a real multicultural vibe here, with delicious dishes from places like Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, Italy, Greece, and the Philippines, plus plenty of Aussie tucker. It's a cracking spot to grab dinner or pick up some fresh produce for the weekend. Beyond the food, there's always something happening. You might catch multicultural dancers, a country and western band, or even a mainstream act. The kids have a ball too, with a DJ playing tunes, clowns, games, and competitions. And if you're after something a bit different, you can browse the arts and crafts stalls or even grab a massage. It's a proper community hub, made even better by the thousands of rainbow lorikeets who call Goyder Square home. The markets are a true reflection of the Top End's diverse community, showing how everyone from different backgrounds comes together.
