Northey Street Organic Farmers Market is Brisbane's only organic farmers market. It operates every Sunday from 6am to 11am, regardless of weather, and only closes if the area floods. All produce sold is required to be certified organic or be 'in conversion' to certified organic, with certifications recognised from bodies including ACO, Demeter, NASAA, AUS-QUAL, OFC, and Certified Naturally Farmed.

The market supports organic farmers and small ethical businesses directly, with customer spending helping to fund permaculture education at Northey Street City Farm. The community acknowledges the Yuggera and Turrbal people as the traditional owners of the land. An ATM is available on-site, all stallholders accept cash, and many accept credit cards. The market encourages visitors to bring their own shopping bags and reusable items to reduce waste. Activities for children include an Earth Arts stall and a swing set. Buskers are welcome to play without prior notification.
