About
The Carlton Farmers Market operates every Saturday from 8am to 1pm. It is held on the grounds of Carlton North Primary School, with an entrance from O'Grady Street. The school grounds offer a playground and open spaces for children, plus outdoor seating for visitors to relax and enjoy market fare.
The market offers a variety of seasonal Victorian produce and goods, including fruit, vegetables, free-range eggs and meats, olives, oil, honey, nuts, grains, dairy, cheeses, breads, and pastries. Entry is by a voluntary $2 donation, payable by card only, with donations contributing to school projects and the running of the market. The market is a 10-minute drive from Melbourne's CBD and is accessible via public transport on bus routes 250, 251 and tram routes 1, 6, 96. It is also easily accessible by bike, with paths along Rathdowne St or Canning St, and street parking is available nearby. Well-behaved dogs on a leash are welcome. Melbourne Farmers Markets acknowledges the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Owners of the land where the market is held.
