About
Winderong Farm is an 810-acre experimental project in Dharawal country, Kangaroo Valley, focused on sustainable living, permaculture and regenerative agriculture. The farm is bordered on three sides by Budderoo National Park and features a pristine creek with swimming holes. Its water supply comes from a spring-fed waterfall.
The property is home to a community of 12-15 full-time residents and includes beef and dairy cattle, poultry, bees, a large vegetable garden, an orchard, a herb garden and a food forest. The farm aims to embody the permaculture principle of 'we are nature working'. It offers internships in growing, food preparation and animal care, and organises workshops and working-bees for the broader community. The name 'Winderong' is Dharawal for Red Cedar.
