About
Unavale Vineyard on Flinders Island is a cracker of a spot where you can really get a feel for the local wine scene. They're all about handcrafted wines that truly show off the island's spectacular environment. You can drop in seven days a week, from eleven in the morning 'til four in the afternoon, so there's plenty of time to kick back amongst the vines. They do these ripper grazing platters, packed with Tasmanian cheeses, charcuterie, and other bits and bobs from their pantry, perfect to go with a glass or two of their wine. It's a good idea to book ahead for a platter, especially if you're with a group, but they'll always try to fit walk-ins in if there's room. If you're keen to go a bit deeper, Unavale also runs vineyard tours. You'll get an in-depth chat about how they grow their grapes in this unique part of the world. Just make sure to book those tours in advance. It's a genuine farm-gate experience that anyone exploring Flinders Island should check out.
