Three Dams Estate up in Heathcote, Taungurung Country, is a ripper spot. It's a boutique vineyard and winery run completely off-grid with solar power, even their tractor runs on sunshine. They're all about sustainably produced Spanish varietals like Tempranillo, Grenache, and Monastrell, made with biodynamic farming and traditional methods. The wines are vegan-friendly too, reflecting their natural surroundings without heaps of mucking around. You can grab their honey and cider there as well. Their Cantina serves up Spanish tapas, traditional paella, and pizzas made with local ingredients, some even grown right on the property. The cellar door and Wine Shed, built from repurposed materials, are seriously relaxed spaces. You can pop in on the first and third Saturday of the month, or give Evan a call on 0417 178 658 to arrange another time. They can do group lunches and private functions too. Oh, and if you've got an electric car, there's free EV charging, powered by the sun of course. It's a proper peaceful escape from the city.
