About
You'll find The Pines Gelato Bar tucked away in Kiama, a six-generation dairy farm on the beautiful South Coast of NSW. They're doing things a bit differently here, focusing on regenerative agriculture. That means they're blending Biodynamic, Organic, and Holistic Management practices to really look after their soil and their animals. It all makes for some seriously good dairy products.
They're passionate about making traditional farmhouse cheese, and after five years of refining their methods, they're now producing small batches of hard cheese, like their "Three Daughters Cheddar". And if you're a fan of yoghurt, their Natural, Pot Set Yoghurt is made simply with natural cultures and fresh milk, then pot set in glass jars so you get that lovely cream layer on top. But the star of the show for many is their gelato, made fresh on the farm each week with about 70% their own milk. They use the finest ingredients for their classic and contemporary flavours. And if you're after a good honest milk, they also do non-homogenised milk.
Every step of the process happens right there on the farm. Milk goes straight from the morning milking to their factory. They're even starting to offer on-farm experiences, everything from school groups to yoga and farming workshops. So, whether you're keen to try their award-winning cheese or just grab some fresh gelato, it's worth a stop.
