About
Mark and Tamarra at The Garlic Shed grow a heap of Australian garlic out in the Capertee Valley, near Bogee. You'll find them at 313 Noola Road, where they've been going strong since 2019. They got started because they reckon there's too much imported garlic floating around, and they wanted to do something about it. So, they put in the hard yards to produce top-notch, chemical-free garlic right here. They grow a few different types, too: Duganski, Australian Red, and Australian White. You can tell they care a lot about their soil and their plants. They spend months weeding by hand, mulching, and making sure everything gets enough water. They get their harvest in November, and by December, it's all cured and ready for you to take home. If you want to grab some fresh garlic, you can pop by their farm gate on weekends from November right through to May. It's a good chance to have a yarn with Mark and Tamarra, maybe enjoy a coffee, and learn a bit about how they grow their honest, flavourful garlic. They sell fresh garlic in braids and bulbs, smoked garlic, and even garlic herb grinders. It's a proper family business, Aussie owned and operated, and they use Australian suppliers for everything. They're all about good views out there too, with their property sitting on what they call Warruga, an Aboriginal word meaning just that.
