Down in Tasmania's beautiful Huon Valley, the R&R Smith family has been growing apples since way back in 1888. They're real pioneers, even going organic in 1998 before many others. You'll find popular apple varieties like Royal Gala, Pink Lady, Fuji, and Jazz apples, along with their newer Southern Bliss. Each kind has its own best uses, whether that's for pies and sauces, or just munching fresh. They've teamed up with local chefs to put together some ripper recipes too, like Spiced Rye Apple Shortcake and Pork & Apple Sausage Rolls with Apple Chutney. Even Hasselback Jazz Apples with Almond Crumble, which sounds pretty fancy. While you might not be able to rock up to a farm gate, you can grab their certified organic apples from heaps of retailers all around Australia. They're grown with sunlight, water, and a whole lot of love, so you know they're good.
