About
Spring Hill Peony Farm is a peony farm located in the Macedon Ranges, Central Highlands, approximately one hour's drive north-west of Melbourne. Established in 2001 by the Barry Family, the farm grows peonies for the cut flower market and sells plants as bare roots in winter, using organic and sustainable practices.
Peony plants in this region flower from mid-November to early December, later than other Australian regions due to the colder Central Ranges climate. The farm supplies local markets and holds farm gate flower sales in late November each year. Visitors can also pick their own peonies at the end of November during the Peony Paddock Picnic. Bare-root peony plants are sold in March each year, with ordered plants ready for pick-up or postage in April; these plants are suitable for very cold climates at least 500m above sea level.
The farm also features the Little Church venue, St Mark's Church of England, a building constructed in the 1890s which operated as a church until 1959, now available for weddings and events.
