About
Southern Cross Mushrooms grows and supplies gourmet mushrooms to Melbourne CBD and surrounding suburbs from its farm in Point Cook. The farm spawns, harvests, packs, and hand delivers a range of species including several oyster varieties, lion's mane, and swordbelt mushrooms, grown to order for chefs and individuals.
All mushrooms are grown chemical-free, without pesticides, antibiotics, heavy metals, or second-grade water. They are cultivated in purpose-built clean rooms with a year-round climate and fed with natural eucalyptus and soy hull sourced in Victoria. The farm applies responsible practices to reduce consumption and waste and limits transport emissions.
Produce is packaged in environmentally friendly cardboard boxes and sold by weight. The farm offers direct sales to restaurants, with a 1kg minimum order, and to individuals via telephone order. Mushroom compost is available free for pickup with any purchase, and visits to the farm can be arranged by appointment.
