About
Shingle Hut Creek Farm is a family-owned operation run by Dominic and Sandra Lawson on 2,400 acres in the foothills of Mt Mistake, a 1.5-hour drive south-west of Brisbane in the Lockyer Valley. The farm raises breeder cattle using a holistic grazing system focused on soil health, biodiversity, and carbon sequestration. Their cattle are raised entirely on native pastures, are never fed grain, and are chemical-free.
The farm currently runs around 80-90 breeder cattle purchased in 2020, using a Droughtmaster bull to improve the herd. They aim to keep cattle family groups together to strengthen bonds and improve herd wellbeing. They sell their beef products via local markets and farm gate sales by appointment, with half or whole beasts available for purchase.
