About
Rosnay Organic is a family farm in Canowindra, NSW Central West, which converted to organic and biodynamic farming in 1997. The farm produces olives, figs, and natural wines. Its buildings, including the winery and cellar door, are constructed from super-insulated straw bales and powered by a solar microgrid.
The farm has grown organic grapes for nearly three decades and began making preservative-free wine in 2012. Since 2022, all its wines are fermented with wild yeast. Sheep are grazed under the vines and orchards, and compost is made on site. The farm planted 2,500 mixed olive varieties between 1998 and 2000, and 110 fig trees, including eight varieties, in 2004.
Three generations of the family live and work on the farm. The cellar door is open daily from 11 am to 5 pm for wine tasting and also hosts local artists, concerts, film nights, and craft markets. Rosnay offers farmstay and glamping accommodation and operates a customer rewards program.
