About
Down on the Mornington Peninsula, Peninsula Fresh Organics has been growing certified organic veggies since 2009. What started as a small three-acre plot in Baxter run by Wayne and Tash has since expanded heaps. They've now got 60 acres across two spots in Baxter and another 250 acres up in Barham, New South Wales, along the Murray River. There's even a new farm coming soon in Moorooduc. They're big on ethical farming, so it's no surprise all their produce is certified organic by Australian Certified Organic (ACO).
You'll find around 20 different kinds of veggies here, everything from crunchy radishes and Asian greens to leeks, rainbow chard, and heaps of lettuce and brassica varieties. A lot of these they grow all year round, so there's always something fresh on offer. While Peninsula Fresh Organics is the farming business, they're closely linked with Peninsula Organic Farmgate, their retail shop just down the road at 94 Baxter-Tooradin Road. That's the spot to fill your basket with their own farm-grown produce, plus other certified organic bits and pieces like seasonal fruit, Cherry Tree Organics and Cleavers meats, dairy from Schulz Organic Dairy, CSM, and Barambah, and all your pantry staples. It’s a great place to really stock up on good, honest food.
