About
Oasis Berry Farms in Steels Creek, just ten minutes north of Yarra Glen, is a great spot for a family day out. It's an hour's drive from Melbourne, making it an easy trip to the Yarra Valley. You'll find seventeen acres of themed gardens and, of course, blueberries. While you can't pick your own berries here due to blueberry rust concerns, you can definitely grab fresh and frozen blueberries from their shed. They also sell homemade jams and cheesecakes, which go down a treat with a coffee or hot chocolate. You can bring your own picnic to enjoy in the gardens too.Kids will love exploring the Dinosaur Trail, complete with an expanding family of prehistoric pals. There's also a Miniatures Garden and Treasure Island, where they can hunt for gold coins. Mamma Knows East even visited recently and had a ball. The farm is open seven days a week, from 9 am to 5 pm. Entry is fifteen bucks for adults and five for kids under sixteen. A family pass for two adults and two children is thirty-five dollars. Just rock up to the shed to pay your entry fee, no bookings needed. Just remember, they're closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
