Near River Produce, inland from Port Macquarie on the NSW Mid-North Coast, is well worth a visit for anyone keen on top-notch, ethically raised pork. They're farming rare breed Wessex Saddlebacks and Berkshires here, giving them plenty of space to roam on pasture. It's all about conscious agriculture, and you can really see the difference in their award-winning pork. They've picked up Delicious. Produce Awards in the From the Paddock category in 2021, 2020, 2018, and 2016, which is pretty impressive.

Apart from the amazing pork, Near River also grows naturally, unwaxed citrus. You might even find some seasonal vegetables on offer, depending on the time of year. They’re big on connecting people with their food, and you’ll get a real sense of how much care goes into everything they produce. You can really get a feel for their farming philosophy, which is all about looking after the land and the animals. It’s a great spot to grab some seriously good produce and learn a bit about where your food comes from.
