About
Margaret River Farm Direct is a market garden run by farmers Ian (Shorty) Padman and his son Clint Padman from their property on Bussell Hwy in Cowaramup. Ian Padman has been farming for most of his life and uses organic methods, avoiding harmful chemicals or pesticides, though the farm is no longer certified organic.
The farm produces a wide range of seasonal fruit and vegetables. This includes tomatoes, beans, peas, potatoes, broccoli, cauliflowers, silverbeet, kale, pumpkin, beetroot, eggplants, capsicum, cabbage, and cucumbers, as well as fruits like citrus, plums, and occasionally apricots and nectarines. Their strawberries are known for being very sweet.
Their produce is sold at the Margaret River Farmers' Market every Saturday morning, which operates year-round from 7:30 am to 11:30 am at the Margaret River Education Campus on Bussell Hwy. Dogs are not permitted in the market space for health and safety reasons, and parking is recommended in the TAFE or High School overflow areas.
