About
Long Name Farm is a free-range pig farm on 44 coastal acres in Little Swanport, Tasmania. Owned by Phil, the farm raises rare and heritage breed pigs, specifically Wessex Saddleback and Berkshire. The pigs roam freely in large wattle paddocks, growing at their own pace, with their foraged diet supplemented by a nutritional mix including barley, wheat, lupins, and local Tasman Sea Salt licks.
The farm's mission is to raise happy pigs and supply ethically-produced, flavoursome free-range pork at affordable rates to the public, restaurants, and local butchers. Its philosophy centres on producing naturally raised pork with pigs living in the open air with space, shelters, shade, and wallows. The farm's name recognises the indigenous name for the Little Swanport area, which is the longest recorded place name in Australia.
Pigs are processed every fortnight, with all bulk orders frozen and vacuum packed. The farm offers an online shop and delivers statewide with a minimum order of $100, with free delivery available in Southern Tasmania within the fortnight following processing. Their pricing model ensures customers pay only for the trimmed, packaged, and ready-to-use cuts they receive.
