About
Koorana Crocodile Farm opened in November 1981 as Queensland's first commercial crocodile farm. Founded by John and Lillian Lever, it began by capturing dangerous crocodiles from the wild, removing over 100 from public and residential areas. Today, it is an approved farm operating under the Australian Government's strategic conservation program and is home to over 3,000 crocodiles.
The farm gates open daily at 10:00 am and close at 3:00 pm, with two fully guided tours offered at 10:30 am and 1:00 pm. The tours include the opportunity to hold a young crocodile. The farm offers public, school, and spotlight dinner tours, as well as crocodile awareness and handling training courses. Online bookings are available. From February to May, crocodile hatchings occur at the farm. The restaurant is open for tour clients only from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
