Down in Victoria's High Country, King Valley Walnuts is a family-run farm doing things sustainably. They've got a great range of walnut products, all grown and made right there. You can pop into their farm shop at 1332 Benalla-Whitfield Rd, Myrrhee, to grab some in-shell walnuts, kernels, or even award-winning walnut oil. They also put together lovely hampers, and you'll find condiments, crackers, and soaps too. It's well worth giving them a ring before you head out, just to make sure they're not out in the orchards when you plan to visit.

Can't make it to the farm? No worries. If you're driving through the King Valley between April and October, keep an eye out for their self-serve roadside stall. It's open 24/7 and you can pick up one-kilo bags of nuts in shell there. They also visit a few farmers markets. You'll find them at Coburg, Eltham, Gasworks, Wangaratta, and Mansfield markets from May right through to October or November. They're big on recipes too, with ideas for things like Fig, Walnut and Fennel roulade, Flourless Chocolate Cake, and even Walnut Snowball Cookies. They've got you covered from breakfast to dessert, whether you're after something healthy or a bit of a treat.
