About
Kerrison's Orchard is a family-owned apple orchard in Pialligo, just a quick five-kilometre drive from Australia's Parliament House. You can drive right through the orchard when it's apple season to get to their shop and grab some freshly picked fruit. They're all about selling apples at their absolute peak, so you know you're getting the best quality. Sometimes they'll sell out and close temporarily, but that just shows they're committed to freshness. Pialligo itself has a heaps of history, going way back to early European settlement. It was even planned as a hub for horticulture back in the Burley Griffin days. Kerrison's keeps that tradition alive, offering a proper farm-to-consumer experience. You can't pick your own apples here, but buying directly from the farm gate gives you a real connection to where your food comes from. They've had their battles with rainbow lorikeets munching on the crops, and they're working hard on netting to protect future harvests. It's a real local spot, even if they won't have apples for the 2025 season while they sort out the bird problem. Keep an eye on their website for updates and when they'll be back selling those prime Pialligo apples.
