Kalbar Sunflowers

Kalbar Sunflowers hosts the annual Kalbar Sunflower Festival, a three-day event open to the public once a year. Founded by lucerne farmers Jenny and Russell Jenner in 2021, the festival features one million sunflowers blooming across the farm. The event combines nature's beauty with community spirit, offering photo opportunities, live entertainment, markets, and food.

The 2026 festival is scheduled for May 1-3, with tickets going on sale in March and often selling out. It is a major fundraising event, with 2026 efforts focused on providing cuddle beds for hospitals in South East Queensland. Additional fundraising includes a Gala Dinner, charity luncheons, and a raffle for a Solaura Sunflower Ring to support cancer care equipment. Free transport to the 2026 festival is provided by TransitCare from Beenleigh and Ipswich. The festival acknowledges the Yuggera Ugarapul people as the Traditional Custodians of the land.
