About
High Valley Cheese Co is a real Mudgee gem, run by folks with a solid farming background. They've gone from growing crops and making wine to crafting some seriously good cheese by hand, and you can tell they love every bit of the process. You can pop into their pop-up stall on Ulan Road any day of the week, from 10 am to 4 pm, to try their specialty cheeses. It's a great chance to do a tasting and grab some goodies straight from the makers. If you're more of a market regular, you'll catch them at the Mudgee Farmers Market every third weekend of the month. They even do a delicious marinated fetta, and if you're ever in a pinch and they're on a holiday break, you can still get your fix at The Cellar by Gilbert. How good is that? It's just down the road, so it's super easy to pick up a jar with your Gilbert Family wines. They do take a break in February sometimes, so it's worth checking their website for their exact holiday dates if you're planning a visit around then. But most of the time, they're there, sharing their handcrafted cheeses made with care right in Mudgee. They're proud of what they do, and you'll often find their cheeses enjoyed by people all over Australia. The team respects those old-school cheesemaking traditions, choosing to make their small-batch cheeses by hand. It's a real art, and you can taste the dedication in every bite.
