About
Grow the Future was established in 2023 in response to a need from young people in the Bega Valley for hands-on learning. It provides project-based experiences, training, engagement and employment opportunities for young people in a supportive outdoor environment. The organisation grows food for the community and regenerates the land using regenerative methods without chemicals.
A key program is the 'Hands-On' initiative for 12–17-year-olds seeking outdoor project-based learning and work experience. Training includes a certificate with accredited units in Horticulture, Conservation Land Management, and Business. The organisation also provides employment for young people needing a supportive workplace environment.
Produce, including veggies, herbs and eggs, is sold via a farm gate stall every Tuesday. Harvest Memberships allow for online ordering with pick-up or delivery to specific locations in the Bega Valley, and members gain access to special farm events. The organisation acknowledges the Djiringanj peoples as the traditional custodians of the land and is working towards establishing a nursery in Bega to provide plants and further employment opportunities.
