False Cape Wines

False Cape Wines is a sustainable Kangaroo Island vineyard and cellar door established in 1999 by Jamie and Julie Helyar in collaboration with the Folletts of Lake Breeze Wines. The vineyard is located on the banks of the Willson River on the Dudley Peninsula between Penneshaw and Cape Willoughby, a site chosen for its ideal Terra Rosa and alluvial soils. The winery uses minimal intervention and time-honoured practices to produce sustainable fruit.

The cellar door is open daily from 11 am to 5 pm, serving lunch from 11 am until 3 pm. It offers wines, deluxe platters, homemade pies, chef's specials and a kids menu, with both indoor and large outdoor spaces featuring an enclosed lawn, a kids nature playground and a basketball backboard. The winery operates a wine club offering a 15% discount and free freight for shipments twice a year Australia-wide, and provides a flat shipping rate of $20 for 6 to 12 bottles.
