Ethical Swine is a mobile pig farm in Hepburn Springs, run by Buck, who raises a small free-range herd on a gum tree plantation on Wadawurrung country. The pigs roam through the trees as part of a low-impact system designed to improve the land by clearing, aerating, and adding nutrients to the soil before being moved to new sections.
Buck processes all the meat in-house, hand crafting products including nitrate and gluten free Brown Sugar Block Bacon and apple wood smoked Smoked Ham Hock brined in Bodriggy Stout. The handmade sausages use natural casings and are free from nitrates, gluten, and fillers. The farm offers an annual Swine Subscription, delivering 3kg of products monthly or bimonthly to local hubs, along with member gifts. Ethical Swine has been featured in an interview on the ABC.
