Ceccanti Kiewa Valley Wines is a family-run spot up in the Victorian high country, not far from Wodonga. Angelo, who came over from Tuscany back in '69, looks after the grapevines and makes the wine himself. He and his family also run the cellar door. They bought this hundred-acre block back in '77, thinking it'd be perfect for cool-climate grapes, seeing as the soil and weather are pretty similar to Tuscany's Chianti region. It's a cracking spot for growing wine, and you can really taste that in their drops. You can pop into their cellar door for a tasting, but it's a good idea to ring ahead and book your spot. If you can't make it in person, you can always grab some bottles through their online order form or just give 'em a call. They're all about being "strong and hospitable" - that's their motto, "Fortis et hospitalis", and you certainly get that vibe when you visit.
