Broken Bay Pearl Farm is New South Wales' only pearl farm, located just one hour north of Sydney on the Lower Hawkesbury River. Visitors can browse locally grown pearls, shells, and jewellery at their Shellar Door or enjoy fresh local oysters at outdoor seating alongside the river. The farm offers two Eco Certified guided tour experiences: the 'Shell to Showroom' tour includes a cruise, discovery of Akoya pearl farming, pearl grading, and the history of Australian pearling, while the 'Farm to Plate' tour features a cruise, a visit to the oyster lease, oyster tasting, and a shucking demonstration. Bookings are required for tours, and a bus transfer from Hawkesbury River Train Station is available for one tour option. The farm grows the rarest and finest Akoya pearls in the world and was a Local Business Awards Tourism Services 2023 winner and a Business NSW 2023 Regional Winner. They have partnered with Take 3 for the Sea to support marine conservation through a jewellery collaboration.
