About
Blue Tongue Berries is a small 20-acre off-grid blueberry farm located in Seymour, Victoria. Established in 2001, the farm cultivates low yield, premium quality organic blueberries. The entire property operates completely off-grid, powered by solar and wind energy. The main farm building is constructed from rendered straw and features a highly efficient passive solar design. Situated on the highest hill in Seymour, the farm offers views of the Tallarook ranges and Goulburn valley.
The Cantina serves as a licensed seasonal restaurant, farmstay breakfast cafe, and farm-gate store. During blueberry season, it opens as a restaurant, offering a Nyonya tasting menu. Restaurant bookings are essential, with only 14 seats available per day. The Cantina also provides breakfast for farmstay accommodation guests throughout the year and is available for private functions, specialising in intimate gatherings for small groups. The Hacienda Lounge is an off-grid strawbale performance space that hosts live music afternoons. The off-grid farm offers five farmstay accommodations across several buildings, including The Shack, a renovated blueberry pickers shack. The Shack provides a secluded farmstay with its own off-grid power, kitchen, bathroom, and composting toilet.
