Beelarong Community Farm

Beelarong Community Farm is a cracker spot, just 7kms from Brisbane's CBD. They're all about growing chemical-free food and they do it sustainably too. You'll find them over in Morningside, right on the corner of Beverley and York Streets.

What's really neat about Beelarong isn't just the fresh produce, though there's plenty of that. It's a place where you can get your hands dirty and learn a bit about where your food comes from. They run workshops for adults and kids, so you can pick up some tips on organic practices or even allotment planting. They're big on sustainable living, even their power comes from the sun, and they've got some clever composting going on.

They're always keen for new folks to get involved, whether you want to volunteer, grab your own plot, or just pop in for a workshop. Members meet up on Wednesday mornings if you fancy joining in. It's a true community effort, and a great way to connect with the land and other keen gardeners in South East Queensland.
